Nestled in the high Sierra Nevada Mountains, halfway between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, you’ll find one of California’s best kept secrets, Bear Valley Ski Resort, this year’s home to the 2018 Western National Land Rover Rally.  Bear Valley is located in the Stanislaus National Forest just East of Arnold, CA and just under a 3-hour drive from nearby Sacramento International Airport, or just over a 2-hour drive from South Lake Tahoe.

Besides amazing views, cool Summer temps, and escaping from the typical Summer crowds, our 2018 venue will offer on-site camping for the 4-day event, but also access to accommodations in the nearby Bear Valley Lodge, as well as numerous options in the local village through VRBO, AirBnB, and others.  In addition, the open dispersed camping area will offer ample portable restrooms and on-site shower facilities for your comfort as well.

During the event you’ll spend 3 days roaming casual to challenging driving trails through the Stanislaus National Forest, with amazing views around every corner of the slick-rock vistas and the cool Sierra Nevada alpine lakes.  Many compare the topography and geology similar to the areas surrounding the famed Rubicon trail.

Along with the 3 days of amazing trails, join us on Saturday for our one-of-a-kind Team Challenge Day, with many of the activities modeled after actual Camel Trophy qualification events.  Challenges will range from moderate physical challenges to team-building exercises that will make your brain work overtime and see just how strong your teammates really are.

Friday evening join fellow Land Rover enthusiasts as we gather at Bear Valley’s upper ski lodge, on the base of the ski slopes, for a festive outdoor BBQ dinner complete with live band and plenty of adult libations, which will make this the perfect evening to catch up with all your favorite Rover friends.  Saturday night we’ll gather under a big-top tent for our amazing raffle, dinner, team awards, as well as our exciting raffle for our 2004 Land Rover Discovery II, outfitted with 100% donated products from our amazing sponsor partners.

This year’s event will be hosted and championed by our friends at the nearby Northern California Land Rover Club, but also supported by numerous other Western Land Rover organizations, including groups from Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Oregon.  You’ll see some amazing volunteers coming together to execute this amazing Land Rover event that will be capped at 200 Land Rovers.  From the morning trail line-ups team, to our experienced team of trail leaders, to our amazing venue hosts at Bear Valley, we hope you’ll find this event to once again be one of the best Rover gatherings you’ve ever been to.

Registration will open Mid-April and will be limited to the first 200 vehicles to sign up.
